Oh my goodness, the food was delicious. I had the smothering shrimp with yellow rice, green beans, and Mac n cheese. One of the customers said I made a great choice. The staff was great and polite. It is take out restaurant.
This food was phenomenal.The last thing the chief told me before I left was âYou will be back.â And sure enough I canât wait to visit again.My first and only meal hear was Smothered Shrimp with yellow rice, with a side of mac and cheese and collared greens, with corn bread.
I rolled out of church downtown today hankering for some BBQ. I pulled up Google and didnât see anything open and near-by. I chose Austinâs instead, and I am so glad I did. Iâve never had smothered shrimp before. So delicious! Itâs not good for ya body, but itâs great for your soul. The green beans were spot on, and the baked beans were amazing (a little bit of a kick too). The rice was a surprise. I didnât expect it to go so well with the deep-fried shrimp and brown gravyâŚBUT IT DID. I expected the soul food to be saltier, but actually it was perfect. I havenât made it to dessert yet because Iâm so full (so yes, healthy portions/great value for the money). Itâs take out only, but donât expect the atmosphere to be what itâs not.Itâs great food, prepared from scratch, and prepared fast. Take it, and eat it. Right now.
