For Italian food, I usually go up north to Batavia or Geneva. However, Aurora has thrown their hat into the ring with Amore Mio.Stepping in, it was unrecognizable compared to the previous restaurant that was here, Gillerson's Grubbery. It has a very charming and cozy atmosphere that you can't help but enjoy.I thought that the background music that included Andre Bocelli was a nice touch. Our waitress, Maria, was very attentive and took great care of us as well.Lastly, the food was great! We got a meatball appetizer as well as foccacia and bread, and the meatball sauce especially was absolutely scrumptious.I had the whitefish dish, and the fish fell apart in your fork. The lemon sauce the fish came with made for a delicious and flavorful combination.Overall, a great Italian restaurant in downtown Aurora!
Visited on a Sunday evening, and we were the only guests the whole time. The peas on the vesuvio potatoes were still hard, very undercooked.Flavor otherwise was okay. The sangria tasted very watered down. Honestly, very over priced and the service was not great considering we were literally the only patrons. The busser was friendly, and more attentive, than our waitress. The built in benches are also very uncomfortable. I don’t believe this venue will last long.Food was meh, and not worth the price. We won’t be returning.
Next to the Casino and across the street from downtown Aurora staple Ballydoyle this Italian-inspired ristorante delights customers with fresh pasta dishes, pizza and mouth-watering meat entrees. The Lounge area was so well decorated and inviting we cannot wait to hear the piano ringing through the room!
