Lebanese restaurant, Butcher shop, Deli, Halal restaurant
At Alsalam, a casual Lebanese eatery located in Brooklyn, the vibrant appeal of Middle Eastern comfort food draws locals in, albeit with some mixed reviews. Renowned for its spinach pie, which keeps loyal patrons returning, the restaurant also offers a selection of familiar favorites like shawarma and chicken rice. While the atmosphere may feel a bit chaotic and worn, the convenience of quick bites and halal options make it a go-to for solo dining and takeout. Accessible and budget-friendly, Alsalam provides a taste of Lebanon amid the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood.

September 17, 2024Alsalam offers a casual escape for Lebanese comfort food along 5th Ave. While their shawarma sandwich and garlic sauce have a loyal following, I couldn't help but notice the food lacks a bit of flavor.
The standout for me was their spinach pie - absolutely delicious and crisp! 🥧 Though the atmosphere feels a bit chaotic and needs some sprucing up, I appreciated the quick takeaway service.
I do wish they'd enhance the overall quality and cleanliness. It’s a shame since this place had a reputation for being a local gem. Will I be back? Maybe for that spinach pie... 😊
