Made a reservation here.It got off to a good start, server came quickly and took our drink orders. We didn’t see that particular server the rest of the outing. I got an orange mimosa. They cost $11.The mimosa was tiny but it was very good.See pictures. We placed an order for chicken and waffles. It took 15 min to come out to the table. The chicken was good, but the waffle was dry and flavorless despite looking good. With the high prices on the menu, we thought that they were giving fair server wages, but no.On top of the already high prices for small portions, they also automatically charge an 18% gratuity.
Today, I finally branched out from my usual order at Watson's (honey butter chicken wings and waffle + a latte) and tried some of the fan favorites I always see other people raving about: the orangey mocha and fruity pebbles french toast. Guys, the hype is real.I don't think I'm ever going back after that orangey mocha. The cereal french toast is great too, huge slices! (if you're looking to come and have several dishes including this, I recommend getting just the single slice or splitting an order to have room—or just have leftovers!) Btw, before today, my partner and I have only ever come here for brunch reservations or the occasion take-out lunch. But our Internet went down this week, so we've been café hopping since we work from home and need working WiFi.Watson's Counter is a great spot to hang out for the day.Plenty of seating, outlets and WiFi, awesome vibes inside and nice big windows with neighborhood views. The staff are so sweet too.Coffee and french toast for breakfast + fried chicken sandwich and fries for lunch = a pretty perfect day.I think Watson's just became our go-to spot for whenever we want to work outside the house.
coffee is really good.fruity pebble french toast tastes more like bread that has fruity pebbles inside...its pretty dry and thick..not much french in the french toast.kbbq pork plate has too much fat compared to meat, and the cabbage kimchi was really salty rather than sour/spicy? I really liked the radish and apple kimchi though.the ssamjang sauce was also tasty too. i have mixed feelings about the things i ate but the service was good and im actually curious to go back and try more dishes.
