Had an amazing sushi dinner here last night.Great ambiance, great food, we will be going back.My group ordered Mixed Mushroom Batayaki, Spicy tuna crispy rice, and Takoyaki for appetizers. All of which were delicious, the Takoyaki could have used more octopus and was a little mushy but had great flavor and was delicious if you only had 1 or 2 balls. For sushi we ordered Monte Ca, Moshi Moshi, Spicy Bomb, and Tuna Love. All of which we will order again. The Spicy Bomb I 10/10 recommend, we might get two of next time. The torched tops of the roll adds an amazing flavor.
It’s always interesting to try sushi in the Pacific Northwest because you just never know as I’ve had sushi from LA and the original fish market, Tsukiji in Tokyo. This place was good we had a variety of dishes focusing on nigiri (sushi on rice). We also ordered the Rumi Roll, it was good. The one thing I noticed though was the sushi rice was not room temperature but rather cold and it didn’t have that subtle sweetness.Don’t know if it was because we had it for lunch time vs dinner but it was a little disappointing. The sushi and rice proportion was spot on.We also ordered the fatty sushi’s like the toros, salmon, and yellow tail ones. The spicy tuna crispy rice was good also, interesting that they used clarified butter for the crispy rice part.
Fun lunch spot in the heart of Ballard Avenue. Dropped in during the Sunday farmer's market and was rewarded with prompt and friendly service and surprisingly good value. Highly recommend the lunchtime Bento box specials.Kid-friendly too.
