I always look at the customer service and if the people are friendly and welcoming.I express to the cashier whom I presume was the manager that I want new to the city and we ask my first time eating are the restaurant. He totally ignored me and didn't acknowledge any of my questions.Only the customers that was there answered my questions about the food.He wasn't friendly at all and was extremely rude.I understand they were trying to prepare to close but it was 7:20 pm and per website you close at 9 pm .Regardless I'm still a paying customer.alot of the side items weren't available. It was a horrible experience.I wasn't satisfied with the experience which didn't make the food taste any better for the price. No love or warmth for a first time customer.I'm scared to eat this
I bought 2 barbecue sandwich combos. Both had no meat on them.Just big clumps of fat and a lot of slaw But the kookier was good fries were cold.I thought they pulled me up to the front door for fresh food Nope
I've only eaten at Tops once before a few years ago.Crazy thing is, I lived off Jackson and Dunlap for over 20 years and never went to this location before now!!🤷🏿♀️With that being said, I will be back more often, because the #7 (1/4 Cheeseburger combo) is delicious! (You must wear a mask for service.) I went in on a Saturday around 2 in the afternoon and there were about 6 or 7 customers waiting on their food orders and I was 3rd in line.It was easy to order and I was told that burgers are made to order so you have to give it a few more minutes.Basically, be patient...I didn't mind the 20+ minute wait, because as I mentioned before, that cheeseburger was delicious....old-school delicious😋... I went back a little later in the afternoon to order another cheeseburger combo and beef brisket plate for someone else. There were less people inside but there was one angry customer in particular. He was venting to another customer that he had just left another Tops and came to this one only to have to wait another 30 minutes for his order.😬 He was visibly upset even with the mask on.(I could totally understand.) Then 3 to 4 other people came in and placed their orders.2 of these were very frustrated with the wait time mostly because the women in the back cooking the food were yapping away and joking around a little too much and too loudly and had customers waiting a lot longer had they been on task a little more. Two of the female employees even used profanity when they got a little heated with one another.I think it had to have been a manager who spoke up and we all heard, "Okay, now.We got customers out there.Let's respect our customers." Then the conversation toned down a bit. Anyway, the food is good.Sometimes the service is not so good, I guess. But, I didn't really have any complaints on this particular visit, though.Like I said, I will come back and I will try other menu items. The food is worth the price you pay.
