This hurts my heart because it used to be a favorite.
The service is OUTSTANDING.
The food quality felt like an afterthought.
The grits were gritty and almost inedible.
I ordered a chicken biscuit but with the cheddar bacon biscuit.
The biscuit was cold, the chicken was the size of a nugget.
I also had an over medium egg.
Clearly the pan was too hot because the edges of the egg were crispy and it was the toughest egg.
I tried to wrestle with it but I was already so disappointed.
I nibbled around the food.
I did send the grits back because there was NOTHING I could do with it.
The unfortunate part was that it was not busy...hardly anyone in there and yet the food looked like it was cooked in a rush.
Consistency is everything for any restaurant.
This was disappointing for a place I really love.

This place has a fantastic atmosphere.
The workers are all so happy and joking and laughing with each other and the guests, and I love that! As for food, it was great and not so great at the same time.
I got a latte made with almond milk, but it seems like it wasn't sweetened at all, so I had to sweeten it and ruin the beautiful barista art. I got "The Rachel" but made vegan and "naked" as a scramble.
I was really excited for this, but it had almost zero flavor.
I had to load it up with salt, pepper, and hot sauce.
Tofu is one of those things that you have to season really well, otherwise it'll taste like a sponge.
Also, the vegetables that were on the scramble weren't cooked at all, they were raw. The vegan pancakes, however, were PHENOMENAL! I've never had vegan pancakes that fluffy and delicious.
I'm so glad I wasn't able to finish it all because now I get to eat the rest tomorrow lol. Overall, I'd return, I'd just voice my comments beforehand.

Absolutely LOVE the cozy atmosphere here.
Cafe Eclectic has always been the go-to brunch place for me and my college friends.
The food is always made fresh to order, and the biscuits never disappoint.
The wait for Sunday brunch was minimal (10-15 minutes after we arrived), and the staff are always friendly and accommodating.
It's a 10 out of 10 every single time!
