Tonto Burrito

I cannot believe this is the first time I have tried this place .
I ordered so many items to check it out and I am not disappointed with anything.
As a matter of fact I went back a second time within a week because I wanted to eat it again and I needed to get some pictures to post 😅. The steak burrito with tortilla chips is awesome.
The quesadillas were awesome.
I love the little donkey on the tortillas 😁

Located in a small strip mall.
This is actually a very good Mexican restaurant with great value for your money.
I noticed that every meal you get, you have very generous portions.
The cost of the food is more than reasonable.
The menu is extensive and they have specials.
Ample seating.
Bathrooms are clean.
Service was okay, it could be better and more attentive.
We got the taco salad, signature tonto burrito (with shrimp added), sonora dog (you can’t get this at most Mexican places in Illinois), horchatas, and agua de Jamaica.
Those drinks are like $4 something but you get them in huge mason jars.
Both drinks were delicious.
Overall, it’s a 4.5 but I’ll round it to a 5 for the excellent value.
You’ll definitely have leftovers to take home. -taco salad 5 - a little oily but very good shell.
Probably one of the better taco salads I have tasted. -signature tonto burrito 4.5 - a little salty on the meat but if you add some of that avocado sauce it tastes amazing.
Tons of meat in here. -sonora dog 5 -bacon wrapped hot dog with everything on it.
You get some heat from the jalapeños, creaminess from the avocados, and mild sweetness from the diced tomatoes.

One of my husbands co workers referred us to this place.
The tonto burrito was enough for two people - Lots of meat and condiments to share.
The tacos also had a lot of meat inside.
The horchata drink was delicious.
Loved all the types of sauces that are included.
Mild to spicy.
The atmosphere was nice and colorful.
