The Ridgewood Cafe

This is a comfortable and inviting pub and cafe.
The decor reminds me of industrial with piping, gauges, and dials on the walls.
The bar area is large, and the establishment is clean.
They have a dozen beers on tap.
This visit, it was seat yourself, and we were immediately greeted, and our beer order was quickly brought to the table.
Our server then got busy as we waited maybe 15 minutes to order food.
The kitchen was quick on getting it out.
We had the Texas roll wontons with Thai chili dipping sauce.
The wontons were good, but we could not find the jalapeño inside, therefore they were very mild.
I had the country chicken sandwich.
The chicken breast was huge, overlapping the bun.
The chicken was tender and flavorful, a great tasting sandwich.
My wife had the Cuban.
She mentioned the pork needed to be seasoned a bit more aggressively, but otherwise, it was a good sandwich.
Our server was friendly, and this was, overall, a good dining experience.

We were looking for a restaurant that wasn't on our normal list.
Did a quick search of nearby establishments and once we got past the national corporate eateries, we saw this and decided to try it. Had we known it would've been better to place a reservation than walk in, we would've done that.
I guess that's a good thing right? Seating after reservations was fcfs but we sat down & the server was quick to get our drink/app order. We ordered the cheese curds which were fabulous.
My wife ordered the mango salmon, my son had chicken carbanaro and I had a full slab of ribs.
I got the fried & subbed the coleslaw with Mac & cheese. My son's pasta was delicious, my wifes salmon was excellent and the ribs were very good.
The fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle and the Mac & cheese shouldn't be called Mac & cheese - it should be called Mac IN cheese.
There was so much cheese it would stop a lesser man up for 3 days, but I'm not complaining at all.
I love me some Mac & cheese & this dish was banging! Excellent service, excellent food, excellent atmosphere.
Definitely a diamond in the rough. We will be back.
Menu is overflowing with wonderful dishes, will try other things next time.

Atmosphere is my kind of place!!! The Traditional burger with pepper jack cheese was excellent!!! The fries were a great combo for this burger.
The cheese curds were really good, I was a big fan of the tomato aoli so may just ask for a substitute of that the next time.
Our service was great until our food arrived and then it went bad.
I ordered another beer when our food arrived.
It did not come until after I was finished with my food.
Little upset over that, but I drank what I ordered.
That was my only issue, so this will not deter me from coming back since the other servers were very attentive with their patrons in our area.
