The Katherine Restaurant

We had an excellent meal with friends and will definitely go back.
The sauces are fantastic.
We ordered a few dishes and everything that came to the table was very good.
The staff was attentive and the owner was checking on everyone making sure they were happy.
We had fun watching everyone go to the front of the building to read the sign that the entrance is in the rear.
Make sure you order some bread to clean the serving dishes 😜 Wish they had a full service bar not just beer and wine.

The short rib was outstanding, one of the best i have ever eaten.
The Thai cabbage had excellent flavor, but the pork was stewed, not crispy at all.
I would have liked more broth on the chowder, but again, it was very tasty.
I would not recommend the pudding it was nothing special.

Came here for my birthday dinner and the most I can say about this dining experience was that everything was just OK.
The restaurant itself is very tightly packed, I felt like I was in the conversations being had by the tables next to us as you’re only about a foot away.
Distracts from any ambiance they’re aiming towards.
The service was confusing, we had about 4 different people ask about our water preferences yet by the time our first dish arrived we didn’t even have silverware to eat it with.
The crispy rice was disappointing.
I’ve had better at almost every sushi joint I’ve been to in South Florida.
Rice is thick and rock hard.
The carrots were actually quite delicious..
high price for carrots but at least they were good.
The short rib was good but nothing wow about it.
The curry branzino which received a top dish of 2023 award was too spicy for me to even try but my boyfriend stated was also just OK.
Dessert was interesting.
A mushy “French toast” which had a decent flavor profile but odd texture.
Birthday wasn’t acknowledged even tho it was detailed in the reservation.
By the end of the night I didn’t even care since the whole experience was underwhelming.
For the price, the accolades, and the beautiful story of how the restaurant came to be, I was expecting way more but was disappointed to say the least.
Will not be returning here.
