Got the Bacon cheese burger with chili and tots.It was good but not wow.Buns were toasted but the patty didn't have a lot of flavor.Tasted more bun than patty.Bacon was good, chili was good.Got the combo meal, paid 18.00.A little pricey for me...
Was in the mood for a burger, so we googled mom and pop burger places and came across Good News Burgers on the westside on 36th St and Castroville St. Oh my goodness, let me tell you about this bacon cheeseburger.....Terry (who took our order and constantly checked on us) stated they purposely put no mayo or mustard because they claim the burger is seasoned enough....I was doubting that, but man 'oh man, they were TOTALLY right!! The onion rings were crunchy, chili cheese fries were amazing, and the chili cheese hot dog was very tasty! We ordered the Bacon cheeseburger combo with onion rings Chili cheeseburger combo Chili cheese fries Chili cheese hot dog (I guess we were in the mood for chili cheese, huh? 😂) Totaling: $43.79 I know some of you all will say it was a bit too pricey BUT 1.It is a mom and pop shop AND 2.the food is definitely worth these prices!! Anyways, happy eating!
The parking lot is old uneven pebbles everywhere however the restaurant food makes up for parking lot.I had a fish sandwich tater tots and water because they offered no diet soda. The water tasted horrible [would not recommend] the tater tots were a but over seasoned HOWEVER the fish sandwich was honestly the best I have ever had.the fish was fried but not greasy. It had a crunchy exterior and was a generous size on top of a big slice of yummy tomato and big lettuce. The kicker was the bun.It tasted homemade slightly sweet and perfectly toasted.I would return for the fish sandwich .quite delicious.
