As someone originally from San Diego and now living in Tucson, I’m quite familiar with Mexican cuisine, so I was initially hesitant about trying Mexican food in Missouri.
However, my experience at Tacos El Champu was a delightful surprise.
Their birria tacos were exceptional—rich, flavorful, and authentic.
I highly recommend visiting on Taco Tuesday, where you can enjoy chicken, carnitas, and al pastor tacos for just $1 each.
If you’re in the area, Tacos El Champu is definitely worth a visit.
