I can't remember a more disappointing dining experience. My husband and I were going to a show at the Carolina Theater and wanted to eat somewhere close by.The Marriott is right next door and I had looked at the menu online and it seemed just what we were looking for. Instead, we find out that the restaurant is actually just a bunch of tables and chairs in the hotel lobby. You had to place your order at the bar and be given a number so that the food could be delivered to you.We ordered a chicken caesar wrap and a blackened salmon sandwich, an Old Fashioned and a Margarita (not top shelf liquor) - the bill was $74 and the drinks were served in plastic cups. We waited over 30 minutes for our food and it was brought to us in takeout containers in a paper bag.I've included pictures. The sandwiches were just okay.My husband, who will eat anything, picked at his sandwich and said that the salmon was dry. In addition, the floor was filthy, covered by straw coverings and crumbs. The men's room off of the lobby had no paper towels. And the coffee maker at the bar wasn't working. The two staff members who were handling everything were very pleasant but obviously overworked.
The food was “ok”.The cook wears a lot of jewelry.I also found mold on one of my blackberries. The burger was really good.Being in the food industry, I notice things like this. The wait staff and staff were really friendly.
Ate here today and the food was amazing.Very creative and well executed. Will be back! Very nice staff too.I had the chicken and waffles, which I could have split because the portion was huge. The menu options are inventive and full of flavor. Also, be sure to get the pimento cheese fondue, yum.
