On our last night in DC, my bf came across Stan's, so we decided to give it a try.
It was also within walking distance from our hotel.
We ordered the wings as an app, and then I ordered Chicken Alfredo, and he got half a rack of ribs.
The food was delicious and the service was great.
I enjoyed how it was underground, I thought that was super cool about the place.
I would definitely come back here if I was ever in the area again!

Picture a 1950s smoke filled restaurant for "business" dealings.
Minus the smoke.
This is the kind of place where after ordering a steak they bring out the A1 sauce, and honestly that's great. Is this top tier, reverse seared, wagyu? No way, but it's also $33 for a 14 oz NY Strip with two sides.
It's a comfortable place that's not trying to make steak an elite only food, everything is respectable.
I ended at 5 stars because it's actually not that easy to get a simple steak downtown.
It's not the best steak ever made but it's solid and a decent value for it. The French onion soup should get a mention too.
It was also pretty solid.
The onion was soft, but not as caramelized as I would have liked, but the soup base itself was flavorful and the cheese was perfect. If you are looking for an old school restaurant that does solid basic food.
Go eat at Stan's.

Very welcoming and attentive staff, server and manager! Finding "hidden gem" restaurants is one of my favorite things.
Stan's DC Restaurant is below street level, down some steep stairs. I ordered wings based on reviews...and wow, they were HUGE and tasty, lightly fried without being greasy.
The barbeque sauce on the side was very tasty.
*Keep in mind, 8 whole wings is really 16 traditional.* My wife enjoyed her ribs as well. The Ciroc Obama...whoa.
Served as a tall glass of flavored vodkas with ice, plus a sidecar of OJ.
That'll do the job.
My Old Fashioned was tasty too. Overall, a nice find.
Reasonably priced, good food, locals lively vibe with friendly service.
