So sad to see this restaurant go downhill.I’ve never written a bad review in my life, and hesitated to write this. But we came for Mother’s Day brunch today and they didn’t ask if we were here for brunch or not and sat us upstairs. No one came to our table for 30 min.The drinks actually tasted a little sour, like things were old. Then we ordered our food and it didn’t come for over an hour. The restaurant had maybe 6 parties in it.They didn’t tell us brunch was actually downstairs so we had no idea until later. My son ordered “sourdough French toast with orange marmalade and cream cheese” so we expected a stuffed French toast. As you can see in the picture; he got some wheat sandwich bread with a packet of orange jelly and what ended up being veggie cream cheese that had gone bad. This was rough for a 9 year old who just waited 1.5 hours for food.I had the eggs Benedict and ate it because I was starving, but won’t be shocked if we end up with food poisoning. It was all that bad.I’m disappointed as this was such a great restaurant for many years.I don’t know what’s changed, but save your time and go elsewhere.
The food here was very good. The pricing was a bit odd, with some entrees closer to $60 and some closer to $30, though everything was very tasty. As for desserts, the homemade sorbet was to die for.The creme brulee and brownie sunday were both kinda average. Service was odd.Our waters were always full, but one waiter was clearly new and not being actively trained. He messed up part of our order and got a few things wrong, such as couldn’t list all the desserts but instead of admitting he didn’t know, kept trying until we realized something sounded wrong and asked for confirmation a couple times. Ambiance was great. It was quiet and the booth was comfy.
We dined there a few weeks ago.It was very nice and the food was very good. What set this apart for us was our server. Our server, Chantelle, was so professional, yet friendly and sweet. She was very knowledgeable and did a wonderful job and made us feel so special. We plan on returning to Sonoma and we'll request to have this exemplary young woman serve us again.
