Brewpub, Restaurant
First time visit for the lunch yesterday (Sunday). We had the swordfish sandwich (split into two) that was recommended by many reviewers, and chicken tortilla soup in a cup, and of course their brewed beer, Oktoberfest. The sandwich and soup were tasty and I loved the beer. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was very cozy. The free Sunday street parking was nice too.
We stopped in for lunch to try out their beers. There are 20 on tap and dozens more in cans and bottles. We decided to eat while we were there and glad we did.I had the oriental chicken salad but substituted fresh tuna.I loved it, and the tuna was fresh with absolutely no odor.My had sliders and liked them. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is sports bar with lots of TV's.
Great service, Great food, Great atmosphere. Good for a first date, drinking with friends, or taking your dad to share a beer and stories. I heard a rumor that the previous owner was British but sold it to an Irish guy but requested it didn't change the theme. Now it's somewhere in between but if you ask me, it's a lovely combo.
Owner response
Thanks for the great review ! Really appreciate the kind words. We have been under the same ownership since 1999.You are referring to the Whale & Ale, which is a great pub on 7th Street..It’ll reopen soon under new ownership and we’re excited I go there!
