Mexican restaurant
Their chips and salaa with pico are amazing! Birria quesadillas made for a fantastic start. The Yucatan Lime Soup and Honey Lime Chicken Salad were both good, but no lime was provided to complement the dishes.Coconut Flan was a happy and delicious finish.
We had spent the day outdoors venturing the Garden of the Gods & Manitou Springs when a serious craving for Mexican food kicked in.Me, my boyfriend & sister decided to pop by this restaurant and let me tell you, we will 100% be back anytime we are in town.First, we were seated quickly on the outside patio (dog friendly) which was great.Second, the service was lovely (attentive but not over bearing) and the food was DELICIOUS!! We moved here from Texas where there is no shortage of Mexican restaurants and I was truly impressed. We all ordered different dishes and shared and let me tell you, not one plate had anything remaining when we were done. The food was flavorful, had a great kick to it, came out fresh, and satisfied our craving better than we could have imagined.Excited to go back and try some new dishes.Check it out!
Unfortunately the food misses the mark.I had the ceviche to start. It was really dry and missing cilantro, a staple to the dish. The birria tacos were just some under seasoned, cubed steak meat. Not really sure what they were going for or if they just gave us the wrong dish.Enchiladas were fine but under seasoned. The fried ice cream was good but honestly that's about it.Unfortunately, for the amount we spent, there's a lot of places I could have taken my family and had a better meal.
Owner response
Thank you letting us know about your experience.I apologize that we didn't live up to your expectations. It does sound like you got the wrong tacos, as our Birria is very popular and is a shredded beef with a consommé seasoned with cilantro and onions.I'm glad the service and atmosphere were better, but I would like to know more about everything you ordered so that I can have a conversation with our staff to ensure quality. Please reach out if you would like.My email address is scott@salsaontherock.com or you can reach me by phone at 719-266-9244.Thank you again!
