Persian restaurant, Fine dining restaurant, Middle Eastern restaurant, Vegan restaurant, Vegetarian restaurant
The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, and the owner was welcoming and warm. However, the food was disappointing, particularly because the food wasn’t authentic Persian cuisine as expected. We ordered soltani, and unfortunately, the bargh was lacking the traditional flavors and texture one anticipates in a genuine bargh dish. The ash soup was decent. The highlight of our meal was the bread, freshly made and delicious.
Had a meal at this Persian place downtown San Diego, and honestly, it was underwhelming.Service didn't hit the mark - was missing the usual starters like bread and sabzi, and I had to chase them down for refills. The Koobideh was just okay, and the Ghorme Sabzi was nothing special.Drinks? Better off skipping them. It's a known fact that San Diego's struggling to score a top-notch Persian restaurant, and sadly, this spot doesn't buck the trend.Despite its stellar location, it feels like a missed shot due to poor management.Fingers crossed for improvements.
One of the best Persian food I’ve had in the US, we ordered Koobideh and Ghormesabzi, they were both absolutely delicious, we really enjoyed it.Our waitress (Zari Khanum) was super nice, she brought Tahdig free of charge, very kind of her.I highly recommend Sadaf restaurant if you are in San Diego.
