Rubio's Coastal Grill

I used to love this place, especially on Dollar Taco Tuesdays, but recently it seems this place is really slowing down the rest of the week.
The kitchen can be extremely slow, and not just for fast food.
Without exaggeration, my most recent experience resulted in us waiting about 40 minutes for our order.
This seems consistent with some of the other reviews here. I really hope this location can thrive again, but it's not looking great.
I'm sure the newer competition in the area like Blaze Pizza isn't helping.

I love the fish tacos here.
Come on Tuesday for a friendlier price.
The staff was super friendly, and the food was to our table pretty quick.
The plates looked nice, well presented but I did think the tables were a bit sticky and the salsa bar could have used some attention.

Fresh fish tacos are yummy, but on the small size.
Should be more generous for the price.
Likewise with rice & beans - such a small portion, less than 1/4c, which makes no sense since rice & beans are cheap! Salsa bar has a nice variety of salsas, the hottest salsa is very tolerable, so don't be afraid to sample them all! Large menu with several fish/shrimp/meat options.
I recently had a salad topped with grilled shrimp.
Salad wasn't as filling as I'd expected, quite small for an entrée, so I'll go back to fish tacos next time.
Soda machine was broken, tables needed to be wiped.
Disappointing to not be able to find a clean table & had to wipe one ourselves with napkins - not acceptable.
Large community table in front is a nice gathering spot for larger groups.
