Salvadoran restaurant
Their food was delicious.Service took way longer than it should have.Several tables who were seated much later than us were served first. This is Cash Only so go prepared.
If I could give zero stars I would. This place seems to be only for "locals", so if you're looking for a new place to try - dont stop here. They treated us terribly. When we sat down the waitress came over and immediately asked us what we wanted to eat without bringing menus - we then explained this is our first time - can we have menus and then she stood there while we searched the menu and when we asked for coffee, she had an attitude about how we didnt know to go up and get it ourselves - again, our first time.Food took forever to come out and it was "ok" - definitely had better Salvadoran food. When I went to pay the cashier didn't say anything just "cash only" and had $24 written down on the ticket - I said I don't have cash and she pointed outside and said "ATM". Got cash and came back and the price was crossed out and now it said $28.I didn't even attempt to argue, paid and left.So disappointing.
These were the first Pupuseria I tried in Memphis, after having them in El Salvador and around the USA.For 2.50 you can get some amazing food. Also I love that salsa verde and curtido. As far as service, the gentleman who takes order is always willing to work with my rough Spanish, and the 2 ladies cooking are always nice and attentive.A must try if you have never had pupusas 🫓 before.
