Prado for a price Children not very welcome "My family's dining experience at The Prado in Balboa Park was a blend of highs and lows.On the positive side, the service was notably swift, and the view from the back balcony was genuinely enjoyable, offering a peaceful backdrop to our meal. However, several aspects didn't quite meet our expectations. Firstly, while the food was decent, it did not justify the high price tag attached to it.Additionally, the portion sizes were somewhat disappointing, leaving us feeling hungry after our meal. This was surprising and not what we anticipated from a restaurant of this caliber. Our primary concern, however, centered around the service we received from our server, Todd.Despite our children being well-behaved and quiet, Todd appeared to be in a hurry to have us leave, making us feel unwelcome. This rush detracted significantly from our dining experience, particularly since we noted that we were the only family with children present. It was an uncomfortable feeling, suggesting a preference against accommodating younger guests. In summary, while The Prado boasts a lovely location and quick service, the combination of its pricing, portion sizes, and the unwelcoming service we received from our server made our visit less enjoyable than we had hoped. We would have appreciated a more relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, especially since we were ensuring our children were not disruptive to other guests."
You have to come here for a nice, relaxing dinner. The staff is great, the food is really good, drinks are excellent, if you get a patio seat that make it’s nicer. We had the crab dip (very crabby), Cesar salad, seared salmon plate, and pork prime with the bone. All the food was awesome. It was out 18th year anniversary and they surprised us with an awesome flan dessert. The overall experience was really nice.
We came in with a part of about 8-9 people and they seated/served us swiftly! It's been a while since the day I ate here, but, if i'm recalling correctly, I ordered the strawberry salad dish with salmon. It was cooked to tenderness and the salad had a nice balance of sweet and savory tones.I remember trying bites of other people food as well and everything was great.Would highly recommend visiting if you're walking around the area.Excellent dining experience with decent prices.
