I don’t ever write reviews, but I could not resist putting my two cents in about this restaurant.I choose to come here as part of my observation report for one of my classes.I had to experience a new culture and write about it and I am so glad I chose The Phoenician Garden because I now have a new favorite spot.It was such a lovely environment and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff was also very kind, helpful, and informative when answering my questions about the dishes.I could not stop dipping my food into the hummus, it was so tasty and it went well with everything.I cannot wait to visit again!

Hi Jaky, first off, a massive thanks for breaking your review silence for us at The Phoenician Garden! We’re ecstatic that we turned out to be more than just homework but a spot that won your heart. We’re nodding along about the hummus - it’s one of our favorites! Glad to hear our team, with their encyclopedia of food knowledge, made your experience that much better. Can’t wait to welcome you back.Looking forward to serving up another experience worth sharing!
I have had this restaurant on my list to try as I haven’t been able to find what I am looking for when it comes to Mediterranean food in Fresno. As most customers stated, as soon as I entered, I felt welcomed. The decor is very nice as well as the staff I encountered. My waiter was Samuel who was extremely prompt.I explained to him about my experiences thus far hence me not wanting to waste money on things I love only to be disappointed. He listened, unlike some waiters and waitresses, and helped me with options and provided some suggestions. I had their Long Island Iced Tea (poured by Samuel himself) which tasted as it should - like iced tea! He definitely knows how to pour as I can only count on one hand the number of Long Islands where the alcohol is masked … but the alcohol is felt. It was my boyfriend first time with Mediterranean cuisine so I ordered a small hummus to start (recommended by Samuel as I didn’t see the small one on the menu). He was so creamy … and the presentation was remarkable. Once my boyfriend arrived, he ordered the Spicy Chicken based on pictures I showed him on Yelp.Me, I wanted everything! However I ended up with the gyro wrap with a side of roasted potatoes.I must say, probably the best roasted potatoes I’ve had because I love garlic … and it was the perfect amount. The garlic sauce is excellent as well.Creamy and garlicky. I tasted my boyfriend’s Spicy Chicken and it was delicious! This creamy and spicy dish is as something I didn’t expect.I do not like rice pilaf, but I am a huge fan of theirs.Delicate and flavorful. Samuel did not rush us nor any of the other staff. Some restaurants rush you out as if there a time limit. Dessert … I had to bring something back for my mother.I already had my heart set on the lemon cake based on Yelp images, but Samuel advised the cheesecake is superb as well as the famous cake.He did not lie.The best lemon cake I’ve ever had and my mom loved her cheesecake. The only sad thing was when I called back later to find out if they sell the cake whole … 😭 I will be back to try the shawarmas and falafels for sure! Thanks for giving me a place to find what I am looking for ..finally!

Thank you, Roz, for your wonderful 5-star review! We're overjoyed to hear your first experience with us left such a positive impression. It's fantastic to know that Samuel's recommendations, including the Long Island Iced Tea and the small hummus, were to your liking. We’re glad you and your boyfriend enjoyed the spicy chicken, gyro wrap, and those garlic-roasted potatoes we pride ourselves on (the potatoes are a hidden favorite!).We'll definitely pass on your kind words to Samuel and the rest of our team. Thanks for choosing us as your go-to spot for Mediterranean cuisine in Fresno.
I was here for an early dinner and ordered the spicy chicken. The flavor was just right with a spicy kick, rice had a buttery flavor, and bell pepper was soft and juicy. The fried cauliflower is a good appetizer and is served with glazed onions and a side of pita bread. Our waiter was attentive and made sure to bring extra items we requested in a timely matter (spicy garlic sauce, lemon).I would come back again and try their dessert menu such as the lemon cake, cheesecake, or baklava.

We're thrilled you enjoyed the spicy chicken and found the balance of flavors to your taste, especially with the buttery rice and juicy bell pepper. It sounds like the fried cauliflower appetizer was a hit, too! We're glad to hear that our service was attentive as well. Thanks!
