To set the tone, I’m Vietnamese and grew up eating homemade Vietnamese food everyday. Let me start with, I think the workers are all Chinese after hearing the language they spoke plus looking at their facial features. So, I think they’re better off with their own dishes than a Vietnamese dish they can’t make properly. My s/o got Pho Dac Beit and I got Spicy Beef Noodle Soup.No flavor in either our soups.I had to do a double take on both of our meals to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. There was nothing really there to begin with. So, we both started adding things to our meals to make it taste better. My meal wasn’t spicy in the slightest, but I do have a high spice tolerance.I added like five scoops of the chili oil (which smelled more nutty than spicy) to make it spicy; and even now eating it a day after it’s been sitting, it’s still not spicy. The beef isn’t consistent with how tender it is.There bok choy in it and then egg noodles.Personally, i think rice noodles would taste way better in this dish than egg noodles. Now, the Pho Dac Beit was a disappointment.Tastes nothing like authentic pho. There was only one meatball in there that was cut in half. For the price it’s ok.I mean, you get what you paid for. It’s good to have cheap food that’ll fill you up.I’d say just go across the street at Tai Bistro and get yourself a better meal if you want Pho and any Vietnamese soup related meals.
Simple, delicious, no frills, and amazing value. Not sure why people have complained about the service when you just have to order at the counter. The low ceiling and arched windows make for a cool, funky vibe as well. Will definitely be back!
I wanted to share this.I ordered green curry and it is leon green color.I had green curries tones of times in my life and it cannot be in this color. They must have used artificial food coloring.Taste was okay but the color made me lose my appetite…
