The type of place I dream of.
Would rate it 10 stars if I could.
Every single dish was executed to perfection - all flavours perfectly balanced in an innovative spin between Romanian ingredients, French techniques and a twist of Asian spice. The owners and every single member of the staff became personal friends of ours within one meal - they helped us on a personal mission to track down a folk flute maker we had been looking for all trip.
Beautiful interior decor, so personally decorated and full of plants and natural elements like rattan.
The art was whimsical and refreshing. Honestly better than the vast majority of fifty plus Michelin starred restaurants I’ve been to across Europe and Asia.
Incredible value for money.
Was so overwhelmingly amazing I went back twice on my last day in Bucharest.
Could only hope to live next door!

I was really upset when I heard they changed the menu because I loved their soup and sandwich combo.
However, this new menu is absolutely next level.
We went for dinner and got the appetizer/main/dessert option (160 lei).
At this moment, I believe Papila has the best price/quality ratio in Bucharest.
The main dishes were out of this world! Best lamb ever and the beef was also cooked to perfection.
The cherry on top was the caramel dessert.
10/10 experience.

Whenever we're in Bucharest, we hit this place up at least three times.
Their lunch, dinner, and ramen menus are all amazing—everything is top-notch.
Plus, they mix up the best Negroni around.
We can't get enough!
