Michiganders WindyCity Dawghouse is a delightful gem in Portage! 🌟 I stopped by for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the cozy, casual atmosphere. Their loaded chili cheese fries were a hit - perfectly seasoned and piping hot! I also tried their classic Chicago dog, which didn’t disappoint; it was bursting with flavor.

Not to mention, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making it a welcoming spot for solo dining or family outings. Plus, ample parking made my visit hassle-free. Can’t wait to come back for dinner! 🍴✨

Worth the drive to Portage for this food! Hot dog, combo (Italian sausage and beef), homemade pizza puff, and hand cut fries were as good as what I grew up eating in Chicago! The owner and her granddaughter were awesome to talk to! Can’t wait to one back and try more!

It's a family run restaurant and it shows.
The service was great and even the head chef came out to say hi.
The decor is perfect with movie posters of Chicago based movies.
The food was just like you'd get in some of Chicago's best.
Recommend the Italian beef, breaded steak sandwich, and chicken vesuvio sandwich.

Great Chicago Style food joint! The Maxwell street polish and Chicago dog were perfect! The pizza puff was spot on, only grievance would be with the breaded steak, Ricobene’s breaded steak breading holds up to the gravy dip, unfortunately the one I had from the dawghouse wasn’t able to hold it together, but was still tasty nonetheless! I should add that I did take everything togo so maybe that played a factor too.
Will definitely be back and glad to have a great dawg joint in the neighborhood!
