I used to love eating food from MCL, but my recent experience has changed my perspective.
Ordered, Lillian's casserole, with mashed potatoes, and gravy with a pie for $16.00 + dollars.
Small servings and mashed potatoes were cold.

The restaurant is outdated, and the restroom smells like urine...
like a subway.
I am not sure it has ever been cleaned.
The food is consistent, but they are always out of something when I go.
This last time, it was containers.
The server was willing to put food that would make other food soggy in one take-out dish.
Staff is not as friendly as in the past.
I have been going to MCL for over 30 years, the experience is just not the same.

Wish I could have tried more.
I was looking for something specific (sugar cream pie: an apparent Indianapolis staple) and was helped by the manager.
He mentioned it wasn't on the menu for the day and was kind enough to check the back and found! The pie was great, but not made in-house.
