Mariscos La Marea

Guacamole was amazing.
Food selection is good.
Salsa was ok.
Chips are not made in house.
We ordered a tower of mariscos and asked for the spicy version vs the sweet version.
It still was not spicy at all so we asked the waitress for a side of spicy Agua Chile salsa and that was amazing! The shrimp was overcooked a bit.
The michelada was good.
The prices were a little high for some of the items, but we were ok with that.
It is loud inside with a DJ on stage playing music videos.
They automatically added the gratuity to the bill with only 2 people eating and she didnt bring back the line item detailed copy of the receipt again after I gave her my credit card.
The signature copy came with a blank line for me to fill in for tip with suggested amounts of 20% and up...
again....
so be aware.
Also, parking was very tight! Don't bring a full-size vehicle.

Went back for the 2nd time today with the family and over all it was way worse today.
First of all they play the music way to loud.
Had to ask them to turn it down so we can talk to each other.
They charge $4 a glass of lemonade and no refills they didn't tell us.
We spent $32 on lemonade, ridiculous.
The shrimp was not fresh fried, it tasted too chewy.
The waitress needs to be trained at being a waitress.
Every time we needed her she was braiding the other waitresses hair, never checked on us until we summoned her.
Come on, this is a restaurant.
And they force mandatory tip for party of 6.
They did not notify us as required by the state before ordering.
Not going back.
Recalled that they charged the mandatory tip on our party of 5 on the previous visit.
I'm definitely not going back with a party of 4 or more.
These guys force a high tip on anything and the service is terrible!!! Food can be good when made fresh.
Not always the case. Everything was very tasty today.
It was our first visit here and it was good! Definitely trying again! Mom had the Shrimp Diablos and they were very good! Used her diablo sauce for my fried shrimp as spicy cocktail sauce.
They don't have shrimp cocktail sauce, wow.
My fried shrimp was very good and large.
Wife had the fish and shrimp caldo, it was also very tasty! Next time we are trying to the drinks.

Small family owned seafood restaurant in north side has been here for a long time.
They specialize in seafood but also have a few other staples.
We came with a party of 7 and the food came out fast.
The server was amazing.
She checked on us frequently to make sure everything was running smoothly.
