Had a great time at this place, first time going there, they had several TVs going on of a soccer match, Food is delicious, the service is excellent, we were attended to the moment we walked in and they found us a table pretty quickly though it was only two of us and they looked busy.We got served chips and salsa right away.I ordered me a campechana with octopus and shrimp, also comes with two oysters. The food was super fresh and the taste right on point. My wife got a tuna aguachiles which was very delicious as well, I did try them.I would recommend this place, if I’m in the area again I sure would be back.Ah! Also had a michelada that was very good (beer and Clamato mix charged separately) and they have a nice variety of Mexican beer and others.5/5 stars.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The salsa that they served with their chips was flavorful and the right amount of spice.Their portion of ceviche on their tostadas was a generous amount for me.What I appreciated most, was the the shrimp was nicely deveined and the flavor was fresh. The servers both were very friendly and greeted me when I entered, and thanked me upon leaving. My bill came out to 10.42 and I left very satisfied.I would definitely come back again.
Upon the recommendation of some of my Foodie Followers, I found my way over to Mariscos Ensenada and I’m happy that I visited this locally owned small family business. Mariscos Ensenada has been serving the community for over 25 years and they are widely known for their seafood menu options. They are located on Oceanside Blvd and El Camino Real in a shopping plaza that has plenty of parking space. One thing I did find is that it’s a bit tricky to to pull into their lot. One method is if you’re heading north on El Camino Real, you can make a LEFT turn into the back road by the railroad crossing. If not, if you’re driving East on Oceanside Blvd, make a RIGHT turn at El Camino Real. Their interior is spacious and has a simple “seafood / fish” theme to it. There’s plenty of group seating for families and that’s exactly who I saw dining in.Many families brought their kids as the parents ate. There are a few big screen tvs to watch and they had Mexican soccer playing. It’s not exactly a romantic setting and best for just general dining situations (although there’s space for privacy). It was also very clean. I can see this being the perfect venue for big family get-togethers. The service is top-notch and exceptional! I had several servers tend to my inquiries and needs and this was superb. I ordered a fish taco which was okay. It was very “staple” and had good texture and cooked well, but didn’t have any boastful flavors. I think it would be a fantastic vehicle for a good sauce. I spoke to the owners and they said they are working on a chipotle-style sauce which will go with it.This was great news! I also ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon, egg, cheese and came with additional papas inside (for free).Again, this was a dish that was a good staple and foundation for a good sauce. Not excelling in flavor, but not lacking either. Basic. Which is a great segway for their salsa! My order came with complimentary housemade chips and salsa.Made fresh daily. This is where my experience took a turn. Their housemade salsas are freakin phenomenal! The perfect level of heat-to-flavor and I was so impressed! I used the salsa on my burrito and I was on my way! This is where the magic happens! Lastly, I also had the Patron taco which was steak and chorizo and it was very flavorful and prepped well. I asked around and many people highly recommended their ceviche, shrimp cocktail, shrimp quesadillas and their lobster tacos. Overall, I liked my experience and now I know what to order next time I come here and I’m also glad that the owner, Carlos, takes feedback on how to improve and better his establishment 😊 I recommend giving this local favorite gem a try.
