Mexican restaurant
The restaurant is located in a strip mall- very unassuming presence. When you walk in you are warmly greeted by a beautiful staff. The music is Mexican and at a very good level. It was very very clean and spacious. I had the shrimp cocktail and a fried chimichanga. My husband had a beef burrito fajita. Both were excellent and we literally cleaned our plates. If you want spicy- they will do it! I know that fact is important for those of you incubating dragons. If you want the spice toned down (or in my case) none at all- they will do it. Truly an amazing and sweet local and authentic experience.
While on business travel, wanted to try something different nearby my hotel. I picked up a few things to go to try. I grabbed a Carne Asada, 3 street tacos, and a guacamole dip. Carne asada was very fatty with hardly any flavor.Rice was a little strange and soggy. However, the refried beans were ok.The guacamole salad that comes with the Carne Asada plate was good.It only has a small bit of guacamole but I appreciate the small hints of jalapeno in the salad. Not too much, and I would rate it a low medium. The side of tortillas that came with the Carne Asada were just ok and tastes store bought. Guacamole dip is fantastic. It's an avocado salad with onions and tomatoes and huge chunks of avocado.Fantastic! Very very good. There is a lot of flavor here and can be used as a side instead of a dip. This isn't your typical guacamole where it's all mashed up, but the chunks of avocado were refreshing. The street tacos were also great.I picked up three, one with carnitas, pollo asada, and pork pastor. The carnitas in one of the tacos has a grilled, crunchy taste to it and had good flavor. Pollo asada was ok as a filling, but the pork pastor was my favorite of the three. The pork pastor has spicy taste along with the sweet that comes from the pineapple. All the street tacos comes with cilantro and onion topping that you can add. If you're planning to take the street tacos to go, I would suggest eating these first as the tortilla will become soggy over time. The included chips (not sure if they come normally or because I got the guacamole dip) were tasty and very crunchy. It didn't come too salty and had the right amount of flavor that you can eat them by themselves.
