Very lovely restaurant.A completely different cuisine experience with amazing flavors.Server was very nice and gave us direction since it was our first time eating ethiopian food.We enjoyed it a lot except our baby got very impatient, the food took a long time and by the time we got it he was having a hard time. Not sure if it takes this long, every time or because it was busy.We might try again when it's just my husband and I.We got the veggie combo and the potatoes, since it was just us two they brought it in one plate to share, it was fun getting to try all the flavors.
Fantastic food in a cozy restaurant that you'd miss if you weren't looking! Tried sambusas, veggie combo, misto (lamb combo), beef tibs, and doro wot (chicken). All of it was very good, served together on a huge pan on top of injera family-style.It's a deceptively large amount of food, 2 dishes are probably enough to feed 4 people.Don't expect silverware, but it's a fun experience! Sambusas came fresh-fried, crunchy with very well seasoned lentil filling.Veggie combo was by far the best choice, with a selection of almost all their veggie dishes, expect lentils and potatoes done all sorts of ways.Of the meats, doro wot stood out the most as it was the perfect level of spice, very tender chicken drumsticks, and an egg on the side to boot!
Was told this was the best Ethiopian restaurant in Denver--and it doesn't disappoint. An authentic experience in all dimensions-- once you find it (a no-thrills front), don't expect to be greeted at the door; it is custom in Ethiopia for you to seat yourself wherever you'd like. And don't expect silverware. The dishes are delicious--we had the veggie combo and a lamb entree recommended by the staff.Felt like were transported to Africa.Simply love.
