Barbecue restaurant
Got there around 11:30 and waited 2 hours in line on a Sunday. But the good news is when you get to the front you get your food right then (if you're ordering from the front of the menu anyways). Can order a beer or drink in line which is brilliant. We were going to get the Pitmaster's Plate but ultimately went for 3 2-meat plates for more variety. The food was incredible, incentive sides. This is the new school barbecue. They didn't have brisket on the menu (a special every Saturday) so keep that in mind but the food was really lovely. We sat outside in the shade which was lovely but we were fighting a constant war with the flies so stay inside if you don't want to be vigilant. Many tables available even despite the massive line so that was really nice. Overall, highly recommend.I'm not an Austin local so I don't have a lot of points of comparison but it was great by my standards!
Thrilled to visit this new BBQ gem in our neighborhood ! The brisket is simply stellar, and the kale Caesar slaw and pork sausage are equally phenomenal.Having visited the truck, I'm overjoyed about their beautiful burger now available in a beautiful brick-and-mortar setting. The wait on Saturdays is worth it and not long at all (I think we waited 20-30 mins) and the efficient service, complete with drink orders taken while you wait, adds to the experience.I think during the week you will not have a wait at all. A fantastic addition to our local dining scene!
We ran over to Leroy and Lewis at 11am after Franklins sold out before even opening. The line was out the door, but just barely.Within 15 minutes, it was wrapping around the corner! Someone frequently came down the line with menus, water, and to take drink orders.By 12:30, we had our food and easily snatched a table outside. They only have brisket on Saturdays so we got the sliced beef (+ extra) and beef barbacoa (Sunday special) with the Kale Caesar Slaw and pork hash and rice. The pork was not what I was expecting and not my style, but my husband enjoyed it.The slaw was very good! We loved the sliced beef - it's one cut below brisket so it doesn't fall apart, but is still super tender. The barbacoa was good, but we wouldn't order it again. We also got the L&L burger and it was fabulous with an amazing pepper crust. Probably my favorite part about this place (aside from the wonderful service) is that they source their meats locally ❤️
