I drove all the way over there for my lunch about a week ago, and it was closed.I'd heard good reviews and decided to try it out.I called first to see what was the daily menu, but no one answered.I figured it was because they may be crowded and drove there anyway.NOPE.They were closed. When I googled everything was a go, showing opened. It also shows online they serve breakfast, but nope.I was just trying to find another soul food restaurant to add to my list, but inconsistency is a major turn off.
appears to be same as Ruby's and both closed but yet say open from the appearance on the outside appears to not have been open for awhile!!
This is an independent/non-chain restaurant. The food I ordered was AWESOME! Everything! I ordered a bake leg quarter with candied yams, baked beans, cornbread for my main meal. Also ordered a grilled bologna sandwich. The food was warm, tasty, great amount/portions.The price was very fair and reasonable for what you received. The service from Lady Vee and her staff was top-notch! I would HIGHLY SUGGEST that you visit this very tasty eatery when you are in Birmingham. It is well worth it!
