My boyfriend got food poisoning from the vermicelli) we think it was the eggrolls specifically).I got the lemongrass eggplant chicken and it was terrible.Chicken was soggy?! Had no flavor, was really bad. Also got the cheese rangoons which was the only thing I liked. Service was pretty rude.I walked in and looked at the menu, immediately they were pressuring me to order, which they did multiple times before I was ready.Ended up ordering something terrible.
Ok, so here’s the deal.I’m not sure of what the bad reviews are about (maybe their timing right after covid?) ….anyway, for us it was a 1st time awesome experience. No, it’s not in a cute part of town, it’s not a looker of a location, and it’s not a place spot to celebrate a fancy anniversary or bday. However, if what you are into is real Vietnamese food, THIS IS THE SPOT in central Austin. The Pho is a must.We also got the Banh Mi and have to also say that outside of Vietnam, is one of the top 3 we’ve had in the USA. Seems like they stay busy as a take out/delivery place. We chose to dine in since it was completely empty and had our pick of booth (again, nothing fancy, posh or pretentious, just good authentic food) 👌🏽
$6 pho on Wednesday’s, well worth it.This place could use some deep cleaning, but service was great, even with basically one lady running the whole show. She was very attentive and polite, but struggled to maintain bussing tables which was understandable based on the amount of people coming in and out.She had to run the register and help in the back as well.Too much for one person, so all the negatives about this place could be fixed with more staff.Food was good, came out pretty fast.
