Stopped by for super late lunch after busting out of a nearby poker tournament, wanted something to make me feel better and this looked local and good from the pics online, gave them a shot. Was pouring down hard so opted for drive-thru. Asked for the Special, minus lettuce and tomato. Tots w/ cheese sounded nice, as did the chocolate shake and they have chocolate pie? Why not at that price. The wait wasn't too bad, only one car ahead of me. When I got the receipt it said minus lettuce minus mustard instead of tomato--no biggie, easy fix for me to remove it myself later. Pulled into a space and dug in, the burger was great--love poppy seed buns, didn't really detect thousand island dressing though, not sure if that was removed by accident or if they just use very little. Tots were tots, crunchy, hot, satisfying. Shake was nice and thick. Dessert was overkill at this point but look how pretty it is plus it was very airy, not heavy at all. Would def go back and try eating inside, I could see from the outside they had a ton of St Patrick's Day decorations inside, fun spot 🍀
Honestly you can't beat this place for the price range.1 got just the regular burger with everything on it, onion rings and a drink and got out for $10.The burger was punching well above it's price range.Even the tomatoes were crispy and fresh. The onion rings were actually some of the best onion rings I've ever had as well. One could argue that the place could have been cleaner but honestly, what do you expect from an old school diner with red trays and styrofoam cups? A little old school charm goes a long way here.Staff were really nice and there is a nice homey vibe to the place.Reminds me of those middle of nowhere diners you might eat at while driving though the panhandle or the great plains.Definitely will be back!
Did not get friendly cheerful service. So did not start off well.Tables we wanted to sit at were dirty.I cleaned my table with a rag and spray laying out.I enjoyed the chili burger and fries but not satisfied with serving amount of fries.Didn't get much for $3.The bag it came in was half full.Onion rings were ok but overcooked and little amount for over $3 maybe 5 or 6 rings mostly small sized.Very well organized and mostly clean. The rest of my family had cheeseburgers which they didn't really like. They're not used to having burgers with poppy seed buns.It didn't bother me.I would have been a lot happier with my experience if they would have been more generous with the serving size of the fries and onion rings.I also wasn't happy with the family unfriendly music coming out of the jukebox. Not appropriate for kids.
