Gunther Toody's: Colorado Springs (Woodmen Rd)

This was written only 5 days after re-opening, so it will likely change ( I hope so anyway). Atmosphere: 5/10 Tries to be an old-school sockhop 50's reminiscent diner. Service: Waiters energy was a 12/10, he did a nice job with what he had. Food 3/10: Coffee was not great, although it did taste like coffee, so that was better than most diners I've been to in the Springs.
My food ( Chili Relleno and eggs) sat so long it was cold on arrival.
I asked for the hashbrowns to be crispy, but they were not.
So after a few bites of the relleno, I was done.
My wife's plate faired better as it was at least warm.
She had the waffle and eggs with crispy bacon.
She was "ok" with it. My overall observation for today was that during a pretty slow time (less than 30% full) the largest problem they had was lack of help in the kitchen as our order took almost 40 minutes to come out, and obviously sat unfinished.
As a former restaurant worker, I was surprised that no one helped the kitchen get out of the weeds. Might go back, but it's certainly not going to be a priority.

I do not usually write negative reviews but the food I had gotten delivered from here today was beyond disappointing.
I know this location had been closed for a while and I was looking forward to visiting in person, but settled for delivery today as I could not make it to the restaurant.
My child only wanted the cinnamon roll pancakes, which were almost $14 and arrived inedible.
They were arranged to where the top looked great, and as soon as they were flipped over - they were nearly black on the bottom.
I can deal with a little dark or even slightly burnt, no big deal.
These were TERRIBLE and I am floored that they actually sent this to someone let alone served someone this.
Unfortunately the side of bacon was also burned.
So about $20 worth of food inedible.
Hopefully other people have better experiences, but personally I will likely not return to this location in any capacity going forward, which is a real shame.

2nd time in since reopening, both times the service was very slow.
2nd time in and we immediately noticed a sewer smell when we walked in that lingered.
There was at least 2 tables that weren’t bussed for the entire time we ate (see pic).
Staff walked by but never cleaned up.
Overall impression, a bit dirty, slow steer to get service, not good teamwork with staff - you can help clean another table not in your section - dissatisfied and disappointed with the updated restaurant. We saw at least one table leave, food returned, several delayed table service. On the other side, food was pretty good, the staff was friendly overall, and our waitress, Layla, was very kind and attentive to our family - thank you. Maybe a beer would have helped…but alas, no beer due to license delays…
