My wife and I decided to visit the Great American Steakhouse for for a nice "lupper" (combo of lunch and supper). Restaurant interior is lovely with a rustic feel.Music is not overbearing making it very easy to enjoy a nice conversation. We were served by Breana and she was fantastic. She displayed an excellent knowledge of the menu, answered our questions, offered us a special and made a few recommendations.Throughout our visit she was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We shared the sausage bites appetizer and for our mains we each had a ribeye (I had the 14oz and she had the 10oz).We each had a dinner salad and for sides we both had mashed potatoes. The steaks also came with baked beans and coleslaw. Sausage bites were nice and served with a good BBQ sauce. While kielbasa is my least favorite type of sausage this was well prepared and paired great with the sauce. Salads were excellent.Ingredients were so fresh and the fresh bread croutons were packed with flavor.Wish this had been served in a cold bowl. Mashed potatoes had good flavor and were definitely fresh. They paired well with the steak. The coleslaw was also fresh and a little sweet.Seemed very authentic (I am not a big coleslaw guy but my wife really enjoyed it).Baked beans were a highlight, as is a running theme, they were fresh and the sauce had a little spice that gave them a good kick. Of course, this is a steakhouse and no matter how good the sides and apps are, everything is about the steak.Fail on the steak and you fail on the meal.No problem here. The two ribeyes were cooked just as ordered and perfectly. The flavoring was bold and fantastic. This was probably the best steak I've had in the last three years in El Paso. For a steakhouse, I found this very affordable. My Ribeye was about $36 and hers was about $31.The side salads were about $6 each, and the sausage bites about $10.Total bill was just under $100 and this feels like a great deal for what we had. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone (think it would be a great "date night" choice).
I made a reservation two days prior for my daughters birthday. My party of eight still had to wait to be seated for more than 30 minutes. Our waiter Hiram was great!!!I was disappointed with the flavor of the food.Bland.The steak tacos were over cooked.Steaks needed more seasoning. As we were eating another party showed up to decorate. The moving of chairs and noise was too close for comfort.Bread, beans, cole slaw were excellent. The complimentary cake/ice cream surprise made up for the disappointment.
I invited my daughter to dinner for her 25th birthday! The food was delicious 😋. The service excellent! The atmosphere very relaxing and pleasant! My daughter ordered a steak and a baked potatoe! I ordered the half-baked chicken it comes with sides of asparagus, baked beans, and delicious coleslaw! The wheat rolls were mouthwatering as well as the sauté mushrooms! The waiters and waitresses even sang Happy Birthday. They brought my daughter ice cream with a brownie! 😋😋😋We had a great time! 😃☺️🤭
