We had dinner at Frida in Stone Oak. It’s a lot nicer inside than other Mexican restaurants but still casual. For our appetizer, we had the esquites, and they were nothing short of AMAZING! The flavors were on point, and we couldn't get enough of it. For my entree, I had the cachetada ribeye tacos.I thought they were just ok. My daughter had the tacos al pastor which she enjoyed.I was offered a choice of strawberry or mango tea and I chose strawberry. However I got mango. Didn’t say anything as it was still good. Our server was very sweet and helpful but it did take a long time for her to give us our check and there was hardly anyone there. One aspect that stood out to me was the unique twist on the menu. They don’t offer Mexican dishes such as enchiladas, fajitas, etc.as I’m used to seeing in most. This is more of your “traditional” Mexican restaurant. You can check out their menu and give them a try.
This is a place to go if you want to show boat. The food is very pricey and not that good. The restaurant is huge and has a nice vibe. For a Mexican restaurant, the food has no flavor/seasoning.Our server was not attentive, and she didn't refill drinks. She was a ghost.I gave them a four because of the atmosphere and the nice decorative plates.
The restaurant was empty and they still managed to provide terrible food and terrible service. The pictures speak for themselves. My husband ordered the sirloin, medium, and what he got was 3 strips of dry unseasoned meat that wasn't even cooked the way he asked for it.I ordered the short rib tacos, nothing but grease on an heb tortilla.Over priced drinks with no alcohol. We used to come here all the time but won't be coming back.Do yourself a favor and skip Frida's unless you want to throw your money away.
