African restaurant, West African restaurant
Not only was the place hard to find but the food was TERRIBLE.it was the worst first impression of Nigerian food.Iâm not a picky eater nor is anything rarely bad in my opinion but this place was atrociously horrible.Everything had the same bland taste of BAD BREATH đˇ.Thatâs what it tasted like.Iâm fine with spice, and weird smelling food (unlike most) so it wasnât even that. But it just TASTED horrible.Food never goes to waste in my house but we just could not find it in ourselves to finish that food.
I cannot comment on their ambience as I ordered for delivery both times over months (I forgot the name after the 1st time) and both times the food was horrible enough for me to be up at 3am due to hunger in the hotel to warn people.Whoever cooks there should go & learn basic cooking.Breaded Tilapia on terrible tastingâEdikaekongâ poor imitation, terrible egusi and diluted red Stew-âpepper soupâ with nothing similar to the Nigerian pepper soup but more like diluted red rice stew? We threw his food away both times & slept hungry! The person on phone was not even remorseful at our going to bed hungry after spending so much! It should be a crime to write misleading reviews as he has a lot of fake reviews online. You think you are getting away with ripping people off but itâs not fair! Hire a trained cook & stop the fake reviews. To think I mistakenly ordered here again after my last experience of throwing their food away? It is that bad.I did not remember the name of the horrible place during my last visit to Detroit so I followed the fake 5-star reviewers! Stop faking reviews online.Improve your cooking instead of ripping people off their hard earned $ like this! Now I wouldnât forget the name of this terrible imitation of Nigerian cuisine whenever Iâm in Detroit area! Fork Nigeria is NOT a Nigerian restaurant, itâs not even close to a place serving passable food.Itâs a rip-off by someone who just thought he could cook but really doesnât have a clue on how to cook at all.To think we have wasted almost $200 over two visits spanning months only to throw the food away each time! The person on phone asked me âif I tasted his âred stew looking pepper soupâ when I called to give him a feedback ! Pepper soup never looked or tasted so horrible! Now I must not forget and mistakenly order from here again, the food is not Nigerian, not even tasty food.Itâs tasteless food cooked & sold to unsuspecting public as Nigerian food.Kolaq is in Farmington which is far from downtown but serves authentic good Nigerian food.I wish we had driven there instead of the rip off!
You'll have to wait almost 2 hours for the food....It's good but I was extremely hungry so I don't know if was because I was hungry. The ladies are rude and doesn't answer the phone. It's extremely frustrating to pay a lot of money for the nasty treatment.
