Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que

We were the first ones there for lunch today.
We got our choice of seat and the service was courteous and fast.
The restaurant was clean, the restroom was clean.
The food was delicious, especially the brisket.
We were seated and served in 15 minutes.
Our drinks were refilled promptly without asking.
Wonderful service.
The lunch menu was a lot of food and the price was right! The cornbread is phenomenal!

We had an unfortunate experience but I can’t say the food was not good.
It was late lunch time last Saturday when driving South through Knoxville we stopped hoping for Famous Daves BBQ.
We debated a quicker type restaurant as we wanted to get home but we haven’t had FD in a while since the one near us closed 8 to 10 years ago.
We parked and entered and waited at the host desk for at least 10 minutes.
There were people there.
A server finally came to the area and I asked about a table.
She said that they only have 3 servers and no one to work the stand and that it would be 15 to 20 minutes.
She wasn’t unfriendly and probably would have been more apologetic but she seemed stressed.
She wasn’t Disappointed we left.
We went to a semi fast food restaurant across the road.
I get employees not showing up but this other other restaurant was fully staffed and the place was packed with patrons.
So management I hope you are reading this.
What’s the problem? To everyone else, the food used to be great but I don’t know what to tell you.
I didn’t give it a terrible score but couldn’t give it 4 stars either.

This place is amazing! We are in Knoxville from Ohio and decided to try this place! We got 3 meals and 2 kids meals it was about 100 dollars that’s the only downfall it’s pricey but so is everywhere else.
This is a good sit down meal and plenty of food to go around! The tenders were very good and so were the ribs, the French fries are steak fries cut thick, their bbq is delicious! Everything was perfect
