Stopped by after traveling to San Antonio from Boston. Was excited to try it, food was mediocre at best, portions were small, tacos were half filled, beans and rice looked like one scoop.Staff was not bad but not great.Probably won't go back.
I've been driving past this place forever.Occasionally getting stuck at the red light and looking over and seeing it.But it was one of my friends that just recently suggested it, it was one of their favorites. So we all went there. And all of us newbies were pleasantly surprised. One friend had the breakfast special with two eggs, potatoes two tortillas, beans and choice of meat, they chose a pork chop. They said it was really good.It looked good! I was intrigued by the enchiladas that offered you a choice of the standard enchilada sauce or carne guisada sauce.I thought I'd get creative and ask them to mix them both on top.Where have these been all my life? Really great beef enchiladas with a mixed sauce, rice and beans and two delicate beautiful handmade tortillas. Its got to have that dusting of powder (flour) to be magical. And my other friend decided to get something from the fish side of the menu.I believe they got two pieces of fish and some fries. That looked really great as well. And if you know me you know I always have plate Envy and I wanted everything else LOL. Already planning the next visit and deciding who I'm going to share this with LOL.Side note...Check out these prices/ specials UPDATE...dropped in with another friend since I was raving about the meal.Stuck to my enchiladas with the carne guisada and enchilada sauce mix.Just as good as the last visit.Love the tortillas. This friend who's a light eater was able to order from the kids menu (great price) one enchilada rice and beans and tortillas. They loved them and said they were very happy that they ordered that and said they would probably order the larger plate later lol...NOW you're talking. And it was just enough food for them to eat.Not enough for me LOL but perfect for them. UPDATE...another great visit. To satisfy my plate Envy from my last visit, I decided to order the Botana platter. It was as good as I thought it would be.Flautas, quesadillas, guacamole, bean and cheese nachos and sour cream.Be hungry, or be ready to share. My friend ordered the eggs over easy special but only wanted one egg.All in all great meal this is for sure on a regular list now. UPDATE...still going here.Turns out one of my cousins has always gone here and actually knows the owner.I'm still talking to that cousin even though they kept this place a secret lol.Breakfast was migas plate. With beans and potatoes and flour tortillas.Still a fan of those fluffy tortillas.
