Stopped by El Juarez Mexican Restaurant about 11:30 am on a Saturday and the restaurant was about half full.A hostess took us to our table in the side room where other customers were being waited on.But no one came to our table to bring water, silverware, chips, salsa, or anything. We just sat there for over 15 minutes as servers were moving around the restaurant. We finally got up and walked out and told the guy sitting at the cash register that we are leaving because no one came to wait on us.He looked surprised and looked around like he was trying to find who was suppose to be our server but he never apologized or even asked us to please wait.He just watched us walk out.I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait that long or to have walked out like that. There are better options so we walked a short distance down the street to Local Yocal and had a great meal with way better atmosphere, great service and the food was exceptional! Will post that full review next.
It's authentic Mexican food. I was amazed at the prices, they are extremely reasonable. The servings are large and I was able to make another meal out of the leftovers. The salsas nice and spicy. The drinks are large. This has a little bit of a dive look that is a hidden treasure. The tamales are worth trying. They make them fresh there. There's live music. I'm not sure of the nights but for sure on Fridays.
Very nice place. They had live music on the Friday night that we went. The food and drinks were every good and at a reasonable price.Only negative was our waitress could have been more personable, but her service was good.Recommend. Update. This time, service was great, food was even better.Wish they would remodel.Place is rather run down, bathrooms need it as well. Definitely recommend
