Bar & grill, Hamburger restaurant
Great friend mushrooms and onion rings with ranch dressing.Burger had all the potential of being one of the top in Omaha, but the patty itself didn't have the seasoned flavor, to me the meat didn't taste fresh.Wings were above average.Atmosphere was interesting, some say dive bar but it is much nicer inside.CASH ONLY Lots of history with celebrity visits, an Omaha favorite.
We visited the area and decided to try the local favorite. It is cash only with an ATM on-site if you need $$.We ordered: 1.Fried mushrooms - these were prepared well, and the mushrooms inside were fresh.Get a side of ranch for dipping.(4.5/5 🌟) 2.Steak sandwich - this is a hidden gem.We ordered smothered and medium rare. The meat is super tender, surprisingly so, and seasoned well.(5/5 🌟) 3.Chicken Sandwich - perfect ratio of crispy chicken to bread. The person who ordered enjoyed it.(5/5 🌟) 4.Haystack burger - this may have been the most recommended burger. We ordered the egg runny.(5/5 🌟) 5.Husker burger - this burger had great flavors and overall pretty good. These thicker patties are pretty good.(4.5/5 🌟) 6.BLT - great ratio of breading to bacon. The person who ordered enjoyed it.(5/5 🌟) 7.Bacon burger - the person who ordered enjoyed it.(4.5/5 🌟) 8.Onion rings - the prep on these are unique and tasty.Would recommend ordering.(7/5 🌟) 9.Fries - these were really good, but the onion rings were the 🌟 .(4/5 🌟) The ranch here is phenomenal 😍.We would return again to order some repeat dishes and try new ones.
Dinkers Bar and Grill offers a classic, laid-back atmosphere that feels perfect for watching a game with its dimly lit setting and numerous televisions. The unique setup, requires patrons to order food and drinks separately and the cash-only policy and ATM fee was inconvenient. I tried the Haystack Burger, a popular menu item recommended by the friendly staff. The burger was generously sized, with fresh lettuce and tomato adding a satisfying crunch. The addition of an egg brought a unique twist, though I would have preferred the egg and patty slightly less cooked. While the burger had its high points, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The much-touted onion rings, dubbed 'our famous onion rings' on the menu, unfortunately, didn't impress and required a dip in ranch to truly enjoy. The service at Dinkers was efficient and as friendly, but it didn't stand out enough to elevate the overall dining experience, which, while solid, left me wishing for that little bit more that turns a good meal into a great one.All in all, Dinkers provides a decent bar food experience with a great vibe for sports fans, earning it 3 stars.
