Soul food restaurant
I stop getting food there after they open their other location on Jefferson because the taste was totally different than before , I ordered Baked Chicken with white rice with gravy and cabbage the first RED FLAG was no Corn Muffins for the cabbage and the second RED FLAG was no seasoning or Love in the food! I’M GOOD That Was It.
Will be a nice place once construction is complete. There was one table we were able to sit at to eat which was nice as we drove a long way to try it out.Fried chops were very good as was the catfish! We will be back to try different items.
The food was okay, but I was expecting better given some of the reviews. It’s not as flavorful as grandma’s down home southern soul food.I did appreciate that they seemed to have healthful soul food in mind, which is displayed in their dishes. What I didn’t like was the automatic 20% tip being added to my bill. That was a turn-off.I believe in tips but let me decide how much I wanted to tip.I would have tipped the waitress 18%.She had a great personality but she wasn’t as attentive as we needed her to be.Overall, the place was okay but it’s not a place I would be quick to run back to.
