I was pleasantly surprised by CrackleMi! This is casual counter service / fast casual with self ordering at kiosk with nice dine-in atmosphere.
They also offer alcoholic options , unlike other fast casual spots. What I love is that they offer not one but 2 tofu options (lemongrass and dark soy glazed).
That said, we got lemongrass tofu for both of our orders.
The lemongrass flavor really came through.
The banh mi was larger than other Vietnamese joints, same size as Which Wich sub for reference, and filled with flavor.
The broken rice was also a big portion, the rice itself was very well-done. Would def come back here when we come back for Ballard market

Promising setup with great prices and good food.
Could use some updates to service.
Had dinner tonight here and it was pretty empty, surprising for such a nicely designed restaurant. I had the pork vermicelli bowl, which was a nice portion.
Aside from the meat being a little too salty (I'm saying this as someone who likes salt), the rest of the dish was fresh and filling. What can be improved is their ordering process and service.
I didn't enjoy ordering from the machine kiosk - it took forever.
Aside from the food being sent to my table quickly, it was super confusing where to get water, cups, and utensils.
And the water was sitting in jugs already poured with plastic wrap on top (never seen this before). Lots of potential, just needs to make some tweaks including adding some ambient music.
Tonight, it felt a little sad.
I know they can up their game!

The food is amazing at this place.
It is the only place in Ballard to get decent portion of food for under $20.
Absolutely everything on the menu is phenomenal.
My only complaint is that I cannot figure out how to order food to go and get it hot.
You receive an estimated time and if you show up at that estimated time your order has already been sitting there for 10 minutes, if I leave a immediately after ordering, I end up waiting around and then my food is still cold by the time get it.
That is my only complaint.
Everything on this menu is good and I love how easy it is to customize your order.
They need to work a few kinks out of the system for sure.
