Ching Yen is a true gem in Bakersfield, proving that old-school Chinese cuisine still exists! 🍜 I visited on a rainy Saturday, and despite its cozy, worn-in feel, the warmth from the couple running it was palpable.

I had the foil-wrapped chicken, perfectly seasoned, and the crispy Orange Chicken - both were delicious with generous portions. My friend enjoyed the sizzling iron skillet, which smelled divine! While the place has a few quirks, like flat drinks and unexpected dish presentations, the friendly service and hearty food make it worthwhile.

Just a heads up: they are temporarily closed, so plan accordingly! Can’t wait to return when they reopen! 💖
