Casitas is one of my favorite Tex Mex spots in Dallas.Been going to that location for Tex Mex since I was a kid.The facility has been renovated and is very nice and clean.Chips and hot salsa are very good worth visiting just for that alone.Ordered the Ground beef nachos and was very impressed, ate the entire plate.I order this a ton of places this version the meat had great flavor and somehow still light and airy.
Very nice inside.Comfortable seating. Our server was Kenya she was super kind, quick and kept a smile on her face. Her service was amazing staff is very attentive.Kenya kept our glasses full, checked in to assure everything was good, which everything tasted delicious especially their chips and salsa! Yum! The beef enchilada was flavorful the taco had a crispy shell fresh ground beef as well as the tostada. All staff was supporting each other and helping where needed.I can assume they have great relationships within. If you want great Tex-mex I recommend this restaurant. My family and I will definitely be back to try more of their menu items.
Still in search of the perfect enchilada.Alas, Casita's (the new iteration of Casa Rosa's) on Blackwell is not the place to find it. Queso w ground beef was so bland it could not compete to the great flvor of the tostadas. I had the Red Raider plate with beef enchiladas the chili con carne was the only thing that had any flavor. The taco, meat and cheese only came meat and taco shell only but only the taco shell had any flavor.Z's enchilada dinner, with one chicken, one cheese, under chili con queso, came with two chicken, queso, and a ton of jalapenos. Bruce's chili rellenos with veggies was the only plate with any spice at all. The cheesecake with praline sauce was served still frozen but hot sauce on top. We mused at what Chef Ramsey unfettered might say about the look of the dish.We looked around and found the average age of customers was at least 65, so we pondered whether this was the retirement home version of tex-mex meant not to upset old folks tummies. We probably won't return until the next iteration.
