Seafood restaurant
Super disappointed in my lunch today. I ordered the captains platter. The shrimp, toast, and fries were good. My server made sure my soda was replaced before I needed one, and got me extra tartar and cocktail sauces. But the food is a long ways off from the last time I ate here. The scallops and stuffed crab were WAY over cooked. Scallops were extremely chewy and the batter dark brown (burnt). The stuffed Crab was scorched looking The cole slaw was like room temp and soggy soft, like it had been left out for a while. The worst part was the fish. It was horrible. It tasted as if the frozen filet had been left to thaw and sat soaking in thawed fish juices all day. To the waitresses credit, she offered to bring me another one. I declined, assuming I'd be brought more of the same. I haven't eaten here in over a year, and I guess some changes have happened for the worse. I've had a headache ever since lunch now. It sucks because I was really looking forward to eating there today. And I truly feel I wasted my money.
The first time here was great! The seafood was well presented visually and tasted very good, from the appetizers to the main course was 💯
My husband and I love seafood and when we saw this place on Google we had to go.As soon as we walked in on a Friday night and we were able to seat ourselves. The chairs were metal and uncomfortable for a wider built person like myself and it was pretty cold but there is also outdoor seating. We sat inside. We ordered the half shell combo to start because my husband was craving oysters. The boiled shrimp is cocktail style so keep that in mind.I don't love oysters, especially raw, but I tried one with Louisiana hot sauce and a cracker and it tasted quite clean, no grit or brine taste. On to the mains.I got the shrimp poboy and fries with a stuffed shrimp and my husband got the crawfish pirogue. The crawfish pirogue was fine, nothing really miraculous. The fries were hot and fresh and my poboy was awesome! I put all the fixin's on it with a little bit of lemon mixes in the tartar sauce. I personally don't think it was worth $80 total but the half shell combo was like $25 as the price wasn't on the menu and we only realized when we got the bill.Definitely not worth it for half a dozen raw oysters and six cold shrimp. Know what to order when you're there.Anything crawfish is gonna be from a frozen bag, but the fried foods and salads are a safe choice it seems.
