I stopped in about 3pm, so a bit early (but the benefit of getting lunch prices!). It's a seasonal, local market restaurant and I had high hopes. Unfortunately, while the server was friendly enough--the food was kinda meh. The eggs and salad were fairly decent, the salmon was way overcooked (so it was rather tough and dry and it wasn't as flavorful as it should have been) although the veggies were pretty good. The beet cake was interesting but they forgot the basil sauce until I asked--plus, it really needed some other flavors to balance with the rather bland cake (perhaps, rather than a dollop of cream, some vanilla bean ice cream and a bit of tang to the sauce).
Went for restaurant week on a Saturday. Service was lacking. I walked in was the only person there waiting for the host. Employees kept walking by and looking but no one said a word. By the time someone walked up to the host stand to help there was a line of 10 people standing at the door. Even though, I was literally the first person standing there, helped and seated two other groups standing behind me before even looking at me.Finally got to tell her that we have a reservation (which I just heard one of the other groups standing behind me say they did not have reservations) and I was told it would be a few minutes. Really not sure the point of a reservation on this day. Finally got to a table and then had to wait again for a server to bring drinks and order. I want to tell everyone the place was packed when we walked in but it wasn’t. I want to tell you they were short staffed but there were employees running around everywhere. Then in the middle of our meal had an employee walk up and ask us if we had made a reservation. Not to make fun but I felt like I was in La La land.Maybe it was just this particular day. I think they have an interesting regular menu. We ended up doing the pre-set menu. The first course the salad was delicious, wanted to lick the plate, and is the last salad listed on the main menu. The second course was a chicken corstata. It tasted fine. Served on a big plate by itself, Looked odd. I wanted to ask if that’s the way it was supposed to be served. At this point I didn’t have it in me to go down that road. The dessert course I did not care for. It was a cute muffin but not flavorful. I know it’s a boutique kind of restaurant and the goal is to be unique. But this day it wasn’t connecting. That being said I would still recommend that you try Blue Bird. The menu looked creative with lots of tasty options.
I recently dined at Blue Bird Bistro and was thoroughly impressed. The friendly service from the moment I walked in made me feel right at home. The menu showcased a delightful array of dishes prepared with fresh ingredients that burst with flavor.Cocktails – skillfully crafted and utterly delicious.Blue Bird Bistro is a must-visit for those who appreciate both top-notch service and a culinary experience that embraces quality ingredients and creative libations.
