This restaurant has seriously turned itself around in the best way! We hadn’t been to Billy Sim’s in a couple years due to a previous bad experience.
However, this visit was absolutely phenomenal.
Both the manager and employee attitudes were SO positive, they were laughing and sharing stories with us like it was the best family restaurant. The food was delicious! We had the ribs (which were so tender the bones fell right out), the chicken, and brisket (both fantastic).
The sides are my favorite part - that baked potato salad was a 10/10! We will absolutely be back knowing how much things have improved, and especially after an experience as good as this one.
The restaurant was SPOTLESS too!! Kudos to this team and thank you for a great dinner!!

Ribs were dry old and overcooked (Meridian 's ribs and services much better all around).
Sweet tea wasn't sweet, but fountain drinks were flavorful.
Stickers were freshly, packaged, and correctly dated.
Unlike the Meridian location with their generic plastic cup that looked like the stacker was no longer saleable.

Billy Simms makes some of the best food especially since the closure of Rib Crib.
Nice looking location with great feel...
That said there is often order errors with incorrect and missing stuff.
The most recent visit, literally got into a minor debate with staff over them not putting a 43cent sauce into the bag which was paid for already...
Bought another to resolve issue and get food home in a timely manner.
Also, despite the city wide mask ordinances, and signs on door, mask wearing of staff was incorrect or not even at all...see photos.
