Mexican restaurant
Where to start.....Authentic 100%! It can't get any better that this, fresh barbacoa, menudo and a consome to start the morning to the rythm of Ramon Ayala on the background.Good food, great spices and superb customer service. Coffee refills from table to table, By the way, come early, it fills up quick. A little hidden jewel in Texas.Everything in the establishment feels and looks original. Enjoy!!!
Supposedly one the only places (If not the only) in Dallas doing barbacoa the authentic way.Either way, some of the best I've ever had...The barbacoa is perfectly shredded, and not finely minced like some places. When you walk in, there's a small room/vestibule for to-go orders, but if you go inside the door there is friendly table service.Sit down at any table you find room (seating is communal and you may be sharing a table with some other folks)...Thus, probably more ideal for solo diners and smaller groups. Each table has all the fixings -- cilantro, onion, lime...plus standard red and green taco sauces. Bottled sodas including Topo Chico, Jarritos and Mexican Coca-Cola are available, as well as pastries in a clear case -- the latter of which, I didn't try but hear are really good. Lastly, because it's small and family owned, I would just call ahead on Friday to determine if when they will be open.Attempted to go on a Saturday morning and they were closed for unknown reasons.
Super Legit.Super authentic.Outstanding menudo with tons of flavor. The consume bowl with rice and garbanzos is delicious. The barbacoa is legit and the Gorditas are loaded.Highly recommend.
